Happy Thanksgiving, Steve! We did one of those pass-around things where everyone has to answer a random question. I got: "Who is someone you look up to, a friend, who is not present here?" And I named you and a few others whom I have met online. I said how much their and your virtual friendship meant to me, even though we most likely will never meet. I said how much reading and sharing with my online friends enriched my life, because I'm usually too busy to go out and socialize. So I give thanks for you and your wonderful writing! I give thanks for you being willing to share all the parts of your life and I give thanks for the way you keep it real, and show how life can be meaningful even when it stings like the dickie-o. I know today was hard for you, and I applaud your courage and bravery.
Don’t head south of your current location this weekend. Lake Michigan has fun & games planned downwind… Happy Thanksgiving, and Grace & Peace to Father Joe, too!
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! Stay out of the stores tomorrow. I'm going to try to control myself at the table. I've had Thanksgiving and Christmas alone (long story--I travel) quite a few times (but not this year). One has to plan for that. Like how? Offer it up.
Play beautiful music. LIke what? One from Windham Hill artists below (presaging Christmas). It's called "This Rush of Wings." I know, broken record with that "offer it up". Still offer it up--300 Nigerian elementary and secondary girls were just abducted in Nigeria along with their 12 teachers. Ask for any pain or suffering we encounter (unavoidable on the earthly plane from time to time) for them or Cardinal Zen (house arrest) or Jimmy Lai (he could have escaped, but stayed in Hong Kong and is now imprisoned for free speech and being a devout Catholic). "When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me..."
Also, watch Elder Gal youtube. She is family-deprived (alone) and expounds at length on coping with the holidays alone. So do a lot of RVers, who are often solo travellers who are alone on the Holidays. Here's a secret: we're never really alone. For one, your angel is with you. Padre Pio said he always saw his angel, just like he was seeing any other person standing in his presence.
Everyone check out Mary O'Regan youtube interviews. She has written a new book on Padre Pio (called "Padre Pio and You") using previously untapped (many Italian) sources. She had mystical encounters with Padre Pio at age 14 and 17--but delayed full conversion until 17, because she "wanted a boy friend" and was "a wild Irish girl" She was hit by a car (truck?) at age 15 and had a NDE in which Jesus told her that she was being sent back and that she would have no injuries, not even a bruise. The doctors were astonished. Still, she resisted, being stubborn and wild and wanting that boy friend. I'm going to order her book as a Christmas treat for me and the family.
"... speaking words of wisdom, let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be. There will be an answer; let it be."
God bless America! Thank you, Father, for creating such a wonderful country and please help us protect and prosper it.

Aww, thanks, Henrietta!
Thinking of you, Steve, and giving thanks for you, and what you've given to others, even though you might not think so
It’s not easy being alone, but most especially on a holiday when family far away is celebrating without you.

Belated happy Thanksgiving, Steve. Glad to know you’re still observing and writing.

Happy Thanksgiving, Steve
Myself, I worked today. Doing my best now to prep some food for the Thanksgiving meal another guy on my shift is hosting after work tomorrow
Happy Thanksgiving, Steve!
Low keying it here because I just had a minor cancer surgery.
I'm glad that you have good friends and good places to stay. We'll add you to tonight's Rosary intentions.
