What a great post. Glad you made it.

The Bighorns are so beautiful. And what a spectacular view you really did get of the Tetons.

If you make it back that way, the Historic Hotel Greybull in Greybull is one of the most memorable hotels I've stayed in.

This may also be the kick I need to finally read Greenlights, which I own because of how great it seemed from the excerpt I read.

Be safe.

Quote: "It felt almost symbolic, the way the heart of this voyage, the touchstone I most ardently wanted to connect with, was shrouded in a way that its full meaning was obscured."

Talk about a metaphor! Wow! Something majestic, rich, and amazingly beautiful is right there - and yet you can't fully see it. That's God.

At first, He's hidden. And then you catch glimpses of Him. And then you see part of Him clearly above everything else. It's perfect.

On seeing this, the next thing to do is to *lean* into what He's shown you - which means to simply say to God, "Thank you for showing me that. What else do you want to show me about it?"

Beautiful photos and videos (with cool music--AI provided?--enhancing the effect of the eerie desolate landscapes). "Once upon a time," I arrived in Jackson Hole with a friend, at night, also about this time of year. We had no planned place to stay and ended up sleeping overnight in a cold car on the side of the road. We couldn't see the mountains in the dark, because they WERE the dark. In the morning we saw how massive, tall, and close (!) they were. At night and by day, they were inescapably present--almost alive. It's the awe I remember.

Meanwhile, I think Psalm 121 applies. May that other inescapable Presence (so frustratingly hidden in the clouds) continue to see to you--and Evie too.

No, the music is by real composers. I subscribe to a service that offers stock music that can be put in videos without getting copyright takedowns.

Sounds like you had a great experience!

Thank you for sharing your journey through Wyoming! I've never been, but now feel like I've gone. Thank you for the gorgeous photos.

You know, I had a dream when I was 20 and God showed me several things that were going to happen in my life written on a tablet-- but most of them were shrouded by a cloud. Your description of the mountains shrouded in the mist reminded me of that.

I was not allowed to see everything because He wanted me to trust in his timing, and also it would have been too much anyway. I wouldn't have been able to handle that knowledge.

Your Matthew McConoughay bread crumb was great! Now I want to read the book.

And congrats on handling that difficult episode with your engine! You really have changed in a small amount of time.

As Moses discovered when God told him "You may not see my face" but he was allowed to see God's glory once God had passed by, we live life forwards but understand it in recollection.
