Good decision, Steve. I don't remember when or why I started reading your Substack, but it was the free archives that got me hooked - especially The Lessons of Elijah Daniel. On the other hand, I have to admit that when my son recently became a paid subscriber, I warned him NOT to read your eulogy for Oscar the dog. My son is a soppy dog-lover, and your poignant writing would be too much for him. All the other entries, I encourage him to read!
