Seriously, Steve, the ability to write as you do transports my otherwise addled brain to sights and sounds and....even smells......a true gift to this reader.
Ironically, I have an affinity for Asian culture, the people and their food. Before most of my children stopped talking to me and have no desire to, my kitchen had ingredients from Hong Kong to China and every Asian market in between. Blasted fish sauce can really become odiferous.
Your culinary endeavors are a part of your life and while we struggle through that which is not, it is a boon to the soul to hold tight to the good that was.
Thank you, Debby! I realize this one had a bunch of typos and I’m not sure I caught them all even on a second quick pass. Time to go make the donuts. Kinda burning the candle at both ends right now…
Once upon a time, and I mean a long, long time ago, I wrote a piece and sent it to you, asking what you thought. You said it was good but that I should use spell check.:)
Fast forward to now.....
I didn't notice any misspelled words. In fact, one of my pet peeves in today's social media world are people who have to correct grammar and point out all the mistakes.
Granted, it can be a real nut driver. I can't even listen to reporters who have absolutely no idea that "where are you guys at" is totally bogus. But I digress.
I used to be embarrassed when I went back and read my own comments, seeing that I not only misspelled words but that the auto correct did a number on what I wrote. Not any more.
I figure kind souls overlook things like that. I do.
That ramen looks amazing! I'm like you Steve, married to an American born Chinese (actually Taiwanese) for many years, so I've adopted all the food as my own.

Ah! Then you know.
