I have never been shy about saying how much I love New England. I hope you come to love it as much as I do (I know you have spent some time here already).

I hope you can find a good parish. I think you will find similar problems to what you have experienced elsewhere with traditional parishes. And ordinary parishes often have other serious problems. I will pray that God will provide for you and your family and, even if not perfect, give you something that can get you all to Heaven. It may come down to just “showing up to get your sacraments” and work to find friends and a community through other means.

But I am pleased to welcome you!

Steve, if you haven't finalized your search, you should check out the Philadelphia suburbs and South Jersey, from what you've been describing, its similar to what your looking for with 4 distinct seasons, close to the ocean, and maybe a little less cold in the winter than New England, and I'm sure Boston is similar to this, but Philly has pretty dynamic Faith communities, there's two approved TLM communities that are great, and just solid meat and potato's Catholic parishes as well. Anyway, Good luck with your move, I'll pray for you
