Hey everybody, it’s Steve Skojec from The Skojec File.
I have to apologize for the light posting lately. I’ve been trying to finish up a project I’ve been working on that is outside the scope of this website, and my brain is wired for either total random distraction or pathological hyperfocus, with no middle ground. This time it’s been hyperfocus, so everything else disappears while I’m doing work like that.
But I wanted to give you all a few updates on some things that are going on in the political world that I think are worth making note of.
First, President Trump has been doing a political shock and awe campaign the likes of which nobody has ever seen. His first couple weeks in office have been a whirlwind of executive orders and bloat-slashing actions that have pretty much set the Left’s hair on fire.
To name just a few, he has:
Reinstated Mexico City Policy
Offered buyouts to 2 million full-time federal civilian employees in an attempt to reduce federal workforce size and expenditure
Banned transgender males from competing in women’s sports
Blocked federal funding for schools that teach critical race or gender ideology
Taken a hatchet to government Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs
Pulled the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organization
Imposed tariffs on China, Canada, and Mexico, with Canada and Mexico already complying with his demands to obtain a 30 day reprieve to continue negotiations
Pardoned individuals who were arrested for pro-life activities and pardoned or commuted the sentences of those involved in the January 6th events at the US Capitol
Proposed ending the Department of Education
Has had his nominees confirmed at Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Attorney General, Secretary of Homeland Security, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of Transportation, EPA Administrator, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Still pending but getting closer to confirmation are Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at HHS, Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence, and Kash Patel as Director of the FBI, among others.
And the hits just keep on coming.
